2. What are mandatory checks to bring a dog to the USA?
Based on the risk of rabies in a country where your dog has stayed for the last six months before entering the USA, here are the necessary documents according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
1) Dog rabies-free or low-risk countries - a receipt of online submission of the CDC Dog Import Form. Check the below hyperlink to know about the status of your departure country. Any country not listed is considered rabies-free or low-risk one.
2) High-risk countries for dog rabies - a receipt of online submission of the CDC Dog Import Form. Plus, a veterinarian must fill out the Certification of U.S.-issued Rabies Vaccination form before your dog departs the U.S.
