Logan International Airport (IATA BOS, ICAO KBOS) managed by the Massachusetts Port Authority or Massport, has been serving the city since 1923. The airport, officially recognized as General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, is situated in the East Boston neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. And, the airport handles flight services to destinations across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, the North Atlantic region (including Bermuda and the Azores), Europe, and Asia.

The airport is a focus city for Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways. The regional airline Cape Air carries out hub operations from Boston. American and United also carry out significant operations from the airport, including daily transcontinental flights. All of the major U.S. air carriers offer flights from Boston to all or the majority of their primary and secondary hubs.

Public Transport Connectivity

Public transportation to and from the airport is handled primarily by the Blue-Line shuttles of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). It receives support from the Logan Express bus service as well as the water-transportation systems comprising of water-taxis. Passengers may locate buses or shuttles departing from the airport’s terminals with the Bus Locator tool facilitated by Massport. The tool details the arrival timings with their route numbers at the bus stops designated across different terminals.

Arts and Landmarks

  • 9/11 Memorial

The Boston Logan International Airport houses 9/11 Memorial. The global icon that honors the passengers and crews of American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, which departed Logan Airport that morning for Los Angeles.

The Memorial also commemorates the dedication to duty of the Logan Airport community in restoring the aviation system to full operation and the contributions its members made toward comforting the families of the passengers and crew who were aboard those flights.
