Popularly referred to as Newark Airport, Newark Liberty International Airport is located 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Downtown Newark, and 9 miles (14 km) west-southwest of the borough of Manhattan. The airport is handled and managed by The Port Authority of NY & NJ.
It is one of three major airports serving the New York metropolitan area; the others are John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA), which are also operated by the Port Authority. In fact, it handles more flights than JFK Airport.
To and From the Newark Airport
AirTrain is a simpler, easier way to get to, from, and around Newark Liberty International Airport. Operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, AirTrain provides easy connections to NJ Transit and the rail lines that run on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast Line.
AirTrain also offers a simple way for passengers to get to and from Manhattan and points north, or Philadelphia and points south. It also connects passengers to airline terminals, rental car facilities, hotel shuttles and central parking lots. Best of all, you never have to worry about traffic conditions.
AirTrain Schedules
AirTrain arrives and departs every three minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight and approximately every 15 minutes between midnight and 5 a.m. On Saturday, the train arrives and departs approximately every 15 minutes from 10 pm to 5 am.
Terminals
There are three terminals, viz., Terminal A, Terminal B and Terminal C located in a horse-shoe shaped model. The terminals are 2-minutes distance from each other.
