The airport is controlled by Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR). The airport ranks as the fourth busiest airport in Latin America and second busiest in Mexico followed by Mexico City International Airport. In 2017, the airport witnessed 6.8% increase in traffic and the number of passenger traffic reached 25,202,016.
