George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IATA: IAH, ICAO: KIAH, FAA LID: IAH), originally George Bush Intercontinental Airport has flights to domestic as well as international destinations.

The airport is 22 miles (35.40 km) north of Downtown Houston, between Interstate 45 and Interstate 69/U.S. The Hardy Toll Road expressway gives a quick access to the airport. In 2017, the airport handled 40,696,189 passengers, and became the 48th busiest airport in the world. IAH ranks as the 15th busiest airport in the United States. The airport is hub for United Airlines and a focus city for Spirit Airlines.

Public Transport Connectivity

There is a host of transport means available to and from the airport. From app-based taxis (Get Me, GreenLight (GLT), Lyft, Uber and Wingz) to Limousines and Sedans to shuttles and buses to rental cars. Pickup stops for taxis are located at Terminals A, B, C and E. Limo receptions are available at Terminals A, B, C and E. To help passengers commute from one terminal to another, take the help of above-ground automated people-mover (Skyway) or an underground train (Subway).

Terminals Information

George Bush Intercontinental has five terminals, namely, Terminal A, B, C, D and E.

Terminal A has 20 gates, with 10 gates in the North Concourse and 10 gates in the South Concourse. The terminal handles non-United domestic and Canadian operations as well as select United Express domestic operations and international departures.

Terminal B (After the completion of 2014 renovation) has 30 gates in its South Concourse. Terminal B serves most United Express domestic operations and international departures.

Terminal C has 31 gates. This is the principal terminal for handling the domestic flights by United Airlines. Besides, the airport also handles some United Express domestic operations and international departures.

Terminal D (known as Mickey Leland Terminal) serves all non-United international operations and some United Express international arrivals.

Terminal E is the newest one with 30 gates. Terminal E serves as United Airlines’ main base of international operations at IAH, in addition to some United Express international arrivals and some larger mainline domestic operations.
