Popularly known as San Jose International Airport, the airport is located three miles northwest of Downtown San Jose near the intersections of U.S. Route 101, Interstate 880, and State Route 87.
Public Transport Connectivity
VTA Free Airport Flyer, operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, is the easiest way to commute to the airport. Free Airport Flyer originating from Santa Clara Transit Center and terminating at Metro Airport LRT on its route passes the airport. On its way, FAF crosses service stations of Caltrains, VTA Light Rail and Capitol Corridors. Thus, helping passengers from multiple regions to commute easily to and from the airport at an affordable rate in a hassle-free manner. VTA does have mobile apps, VTA EZfare, VTAlerts, etc., for route information and ticketing.
There are two terminals at the airport, Terminal A, opened in 1990 and Terminal B began in 2010.
It has 17 gates: 1–7, 7a, and 8–16. The terminal houses an international arrivals building, which contains Gates 15 and 16. American Airlines is the major airlines that operate from this terminal.
Terminal B has 14 gates: 17–30. Southwest Airlines is the primary tenant, along with Alaska Airlines, Hainan Airlines, and British Airways.
